Into the Blue

Capturing movement became the central challenge in this painting — balancing color, proportion, and energy while allowing the motion of the bird to remain fluid and expressive.

I especially enjoyed building the layered, textured background and letting it interact with the macaw itself, creating an atmosphere where subject and environment begin to merge together through light, color, and movement.

The bold contrast of luminous yellows and deep blues gives the painting both vibrancy and a sense of freedom in motion.
